If you want to rock your style or give yourself a new appealing groomed personality you should give a try to brown dress.  Therefore, here is a proper guideline for you to wear the brown dress.

The very first thing to keep in your mind is proper to check any balance of different color that you mix with Brown.  However, I am presenting a step by step different color option for you. Believe me, you will look marvelous. Go grab the brown attire.

Brown dress code

You can mix these colors while wearing brown to look pulchritudinous and stylish.

 Beige with Brown

I personally love this combination. This, in my opinion, is the best combination of brown I have tried so far.

White with brown

White is the color known for best matching. If you are unable to find a perfect match for any of your dress color, opt for white.  Read our previous post “ wear amazing and elegant white” to get inspiration.

Black with Brown – Famous BB

Black, just like white is the best color to mix. You can also check our previous blog about the sophisticated black color to see other options as well.

Brown with Pink

The girly color pink is the most adorable combination. If you are a young lady most preferably a girl, you can opt for this option.

Brown with Brown

Being matchy-matchy is not that bad! Brown with Brown or whole Brown dress is the most sophisticated dress code. Regardless of Age this combination rocks.

Wearing Brown Dos and don’ts

Dos

  • Too much of Brown can affect your overall look, try to add few colors to look good;
  • Pick some beautiful pair of shoes on the basis of your combination. Try to wear black if you want to wear a darker shade or you can go for lighter colors to achieve perfection;
  • If you are going to an event which is in the daytime, wear a brighter shade of brown;
  • Wear a lighter shade if you are going at night.

Don’ts

  • Don’t overdo your accessories while wearing brown;
  • Don’t be too much matchy-matchy;
  • Don’t wear brown shoes if you are wearing a whole brown dress.

“The way a woman carries herself and the way she dresses ought to promote the following types of words: modesty, discretion, wisdom, beauty, elegance, and refinement, but not sensuality, luxury, extravagance”. (Paul Washer) You can try the above-mentioned combination to promote these words.  Go and read our previous post to acquire some basic knowledge of dress code.

    Haha… as a child in the late 70s.. it was brown , brown and more brown.  I never thought I would see the day that it would return until my wife came home with a Little Brown Dress just the other day.  It actually looked really good.  Makes me think that the colour may have got a bad rap back then when it was really the style of clothes that it was made out of.  Brown colours in modern clothes actually looks quite good.  Although I wonder what we will be thinking about today’s styles in another 30 years…  Thanks for the article.  Paul

      Hi Paul, how are you?

      I also remember on the ’70s lots brown; as a little girl, I used to think they all were “Indians – Apaches” because of the movies the I used to watch. Funny how the color brown came back with so much elegance and sophistication. I think we will have to wait 30 more years to see the fashion there, will be fun. Thank you for reminding me of my childhood.

      Cheers to your success,

    Brown is definitely one of the favourite colours that I love to wear. This is because I feel a very strong connection with nature, and brown and green are two colours that symbolizes nature. However, green clothes are really rare and hard to match, so I usually opt for brown.

    However, my friends do feedback that I look slightly weird in brown and I look better in blue. Do you think that each person have a colour that suit them (for me, blue is better than brown) or is it just a problem of mixing-and-matching the various parts (eg. my matching of clothes, shoes, and accessories are not right)?

      My dear Rachel, everyone has a style and preferences. You opted for the Brown color. Like I said in the article, too much brown is not good, has to have a balance. Have you try get a very light blue blouse with a brown pants or skort? The shoes can be brown or black. I tend to like. Combinations of brown with ivory is amazing and classic. brown with with is very elegante. Try to do this, a white dress with a brow jacket, I think your friends will like. Please check the pics and video by the end of article and see the combination. Hope so this help you allitle.

      Cheers for you darling,

    Hi friends,great article about the colour brown and how ladies can apply that to their own dress sense.Being a man,I suppose the majority of us have no idea to dress ourselves taking into account the “rules” mentioned in this article.I can’t say i will be applying them to my own dress sense but I will be sure to show this article to my wife and daughters :))

    Brown is perfect for this season, like Black, Brown is also a must on women’s closet.

    But, I have to disagree with what you said that brown fits all skin color. Because it doesn’t apply to me 😐 . I do wear Brown colors, but not as top or my main outfit– I wear it with a combination with something else like the examples you have shown.

    I like the brown and white combination the most particularly the brown skinny pants matched with white loose blouse.

    Ugh.. Your post wants me to go shopping! LOL!

      Ahahaha,  I am sorry Mina if I make you want to shop, but is a good feeling right? What I meant that’s Brown is good for anyone or any skin color, is the one way or other everyone end up wear Brown, shoes, or pants, or accessories, or a skort, a belt, etc. Anyway, soon or later, we will use Brown, no matter our skin color, but this is my opinion dear and I respect yous.

      Cheers to your success,

      Telma
